Family Resource Center
What is a Family Resource Center (FRC)?
The FRC helps provide assistance aimed at removing any non-academic barriers that your student and/or family may face during the course of your journey through school. The purpose of the FRC is to create a community partnership that is dedicated to helping students succeed in school by providing families with information and access to community services. The FRC Coordinator works at both Veterans Park Elementary and Brenda Cowan Elementary. The FRC is on-site at these schools in order to provide all children and their families enrolled at each school.
Services include:
- Weekend Food Bags
- School Supply Support
- Parent Engagement/Family Events
- Holiday Assistance
- Clothing / Hygiene / Basic Needs Assistance
- Community Agency Referrals (Utilities/Rent/Food/Health)
- Childcare/GED Referrals & Information
- Mental Health Referrals & Information

The FRC remains open during the summer break.
Weekend Food Bag Program
The FRC offers a weekly food bag program for students in need. If you would like to register your student, contact Mrs. Love via email or Parent Square. Space & supplies are limited. Food bags are sent home with students on Fridays.
FRC Advisory Council
The Family Resource Center utilizes a council of community, staff and family members to facilitate decision making! All meetings are open to the public. If you would like to attend, via Google Meet. All meetings are held at 3:00 pm.
